Circuit Judge, John Bowman was appointed to the Supreme Court of Florida’s Bar Admissions Committee, responsible for credentialing attorneys who want to practice in the state. The committee relies on experienced legal professionals like Judge John Bowman to safeguard the principles and merit of the judicial system in Florida. 

Those admitted to the Florida Bar Association must demonstrate professional competency and be of good moral character. In addition, the bar association administers a rigorous test broken into two parts. Part A tests a candidate’s knowledge of Florida law along with general legal understanding. This section of the test is comprised of questions in essay and multiple-choice formats. Questions include topics such as the state’s constitutional law, torts, trusts, family law, and real estate. The Florida Bar Association provides study guides for test-takers at no cost for Part A of the examination. 

Part B consists of the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), which is developed by the National Conference of Bar Examiners. Unlike Part A, this portion of the examination only includes multiple-choice questions.
